Berwyn Clarke was founder and CEO of Oneida TheraDiagnostics Ltd and has been involved in the pharmaceutical industry for the past 26 years.
Dr Clarke was Head of the hepatitis C virus therapeutic area at GlaxoWellcome between 1990 and 2000 and was previously with Wellcome Biotechnology and the Wellcome Foundation. In 2000 he moved into the molecular diagnostic industry with Virco UK and, following a series of M&A activities became Vice President for Research at Visible Genetics Inc. (VGI) a pioneering company in the use of molecular diagnostics for viral and cancer disease management. In 2002 VGI was acquired by Bayer Diagnostics and he decided to launch his own company, Oneida, in May 2003 with VC investment which resulted in the formation of Lab21. Dr Clarke joined the Board of the Company in April 2005 and is currently Chief Scientific Officer with additional responsibility for Business Development.
Stuart Hendry
CEO, Spere Medical
Dr Hendry has 20 years' experience in the medical device industry having been CEO of Sphere since its founding in 2002. Prior to Sphere he held positions at the Generics Group plc, PowderJect plc, Diametrics Inc and Pfizer Hospital Products. He has been instrumental in the commercialisation of numerous medical devices mainly in the area of clinical monitoring and diagnostics.
He is on the board of One Nucleus Ltd, a member of the CBI SME Council, a member of the Healthtech and Medicines KTN Steering Board and is on the Industry Advisory Board of BNC Ltd. He holds a doctorate in biosensor technology and is author of numerous patents, scientific and medical publications in the area of clinical diagnostics and monitoring.

Kieran Murphy
President and CEO, GE Healthcare Life Sciences
Kieran joined GE Healthcare in April 2008 as a result of the acquisition by GE of Whatman plc, where he was CEO. Following the acquisition he held the positions of Commercial General Manager of EMEA and Asia, and General Manager of Global Commercial Operations. Kieran was appointed President and CEO of GE Healthcare Life Sciences in April of this year. Prior to Whatman, Kieran was CEO of several UK biotechnology businesses including Adprotech, ML Laboratories and Innovata plc.
Kieran has over twenty years’ experience of the Life Sciences industry. He began his career in 1989, joining Janssen Pharmaceutical in a sales role. He then held positions of increasing responsibility in sales marketing and general management at Mallinckrodt, Vericore and Novartis, where he led the creation of a new vaccines division.
Born in Cork, Ireland, Kieran is a science graduate from University College Dublin and has a master’s degree in marketing from The University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology.

Paul Whyte
CEO,Future Injection Technologies
Paul Whyte is Chief Executive Officer of Future Injection Technologies (FIT) Ltd.
He has experience in commercial leadership roles spanning the pharmaceutical, academic and emerging technology environments, from partnering late-stage pharmaceutical products to exploiting innovative emerging products and technologies. Paul was responsible for leading the commercial development and partnering of therapeutic medicines at Evolutec plc as Director of Business Development, and prior to this for partnering the cancer and inflammatory therapies and therapeutic discovery platform at Avidex Ltd (Medigene). He also spent several years at Cancer Research Technology (CRT) in a commercial role, and was instrumental in forming a joint venture company - Cancer Therapeutics Limited - with Antisoma plc to develop a late-stage cancer therapy.
He has an honours degree from Warwick University, a PhD in Immunology and an MBA.

William Sprigings DipM, FCIM
Marketing Director of BioPark
Worked in the fields of endocrine physiology and neuropharmacology on the staff of the National Institute for Medical Research in London.
Gained extensive commercial experience in the pharma, diagnostics and medical device sectors covering sales, marketing and general management.
Additional experience in international marketing and business development building sales capability through establishing and running distributor networks.
Account Director in a full service marcoms agency.
Operated as UK Trade & Investment’s International Trade Adviser for the Life Sciences and Healthcare sectors in the East of England, advising SMEs on exporting and developing international contacts and collaborations.
Since 2006, Marketing Director of BioPark, a science park owned by the University of Hertfordshire providing labs and offices for rent to life science companies and service providers. The park has expanded and now provides around 6,500 sq metres of labs, offices and services to 35 clients.
Past Director of Medilink East. Currently a Director of UKSPA, the UK Science Park Association.
